Shoreham Academy is celebrating today as the Department for Education publishes its new, validated progress scores. The results reveal that Shoreham Academy is the third best school in West Sussex for Progress 8.
Progress 8 is a national measure which calculates the average progress students make by GCSE, compared with other similar schools. A progress score that meets the national average is set at 0 each year, with anything higher reflecting value added to a student’s achievements during their time at school.
With a score of 0.56, Shoreham Academy is well above the national average of -0.03 and the local authority average of 0.03.
