At school, you only need to remember one password! The password you use to log in to a school computer is the same one you use for email, Teams, Firefly, Sparx and other school apps. If you change your password, it updates everywhere automatically. Once you sign in, you won’t need to keep typing your password for every app.

Self Service Password Registration and Reset

What is Self Service Password Reset?

Sometimes we all forget our password - it happens! With self-service password reset, you don’t need to wait for a teacher or the IT team to help. Instead, you can reset your password yourself, safely and securely.
Here’s how it works: when you forget your password, you go to the password reset page and prove it’s really you - for example, by getting a notification to prove your identity in the Microsoft Authenticator App, or getting a text with a code. Once you’ve confirmed who you are, you can choose a brand-new password. Your new password will work straight away on school computers, email, Teams, Firefly, Sparx and all your other school apps.

Register for Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR)

To use the self-service password reset tool (SSPR) you need to have registered. To register now, go to https://aka.ms/ssprsetup, sign in using your email address, which is your firstname.surname followed by ‘@shoreham-academy.org’ and follow the on-screen instructions.

Using the Microsoft Authenticator App

To register for Self-Service Password Reset, go to https://aka.ms/ssprsetup
Click ‘Add sign-in method’ and choose from your list of options:
On your phone, go to the Apple App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) and search for Microsoft Authenticator app. Install this app on your device.
Allow notifications and click ‘Next.’
On your phone, click add an account button, or the plus in the top right-hand corner, then select ‘Work or School Account’.
Choose ‘Scan QR Code’ on your phone, allow access to camera if requested, then scan the onscreen code (like below).
You’ll then see the below with ‘Shoreham Academy’ and your school email address

Visit the SSPR password reset tool and follow the on-screen instructions.

Need to change your Shoreham Academy Password?

You can change your password in the following ways:

Visit the password change tool and follow the on-screen instructions
If you are logged into a Shoreham Academy Windows machine you can use the Ctl+Alt+Delete function and select ‘Change a password’.

Creating your Password

Shoreham Academy requires your password to:

Be a minimum of 8 characters long
Be different to your last 8 passwords
Not contain single words or a recognisable combination of words, letters or numbers e.g. your name/initials and date of birth
Include a combination of character types consisting of:
- Letters – upper or lowercase
- Numbers
- Special characters (e.g. ! @ # $ % ^ & * () = - {} [] “ ; ? , /)
